Looking for a good escape artist?
Just ask for any boarding school alumnus.
Seriously.
They are good at escaping prep hours.
They are good at escaping the prefect's eyes when they are late in the morning.
They are good as escaping the prefect's morning inspection when they forget their school badge/nametags.
They are good at escaping school hours after sports day.
They are good at escaping school activities such as tadarus, terawih and qiamulai.
Heck, they are so good at escaping, even at times they could be seen outside the school gate without permissions.
What reminds me of all this?
Last night's terawih. It just hit me.
I missed the tadarus session. Where we would all be in the surau reciting quran. (and the numerous attempt of not to attend the session). Or how the upper forms would claim tiang surau as their territory.
I missed going to terawih with fellow friends. We would look foward if the imam is from our own batch. (Shorter terawih time) and we would be devastated if it is the akak-akak matriks's turn to be imam. (and not to forget, the numerous attempt to just abort terawih, at times having the prefects or wardens waiting outside).
The last qiamulai I attended would be in SSP itself. My best partner in crime would be Peon. We would end up (well not most of the times) sleeping at the back of the surau.
I missed sahur time with fellow dorm mates. Usually we would ditch the dining hall food (well, dressing up properly at 4am in the morning?) and we would end up with maggi mee, breads or anything that is eatable.
Berbuka time would be fun especially during the weekend. Lots of food from dorm mates having parents staying nearby (me, of course). My main supply would be murtabak.
Hmm. 1995-1999.
Thanks fellow friends for giving me such good memories.
